Selcom, founded in 1979 and located in Castel Maggiore (Bologna), is a leading Italian company in the engineering and production of electronic components for all types of applications (white goods, automotive, telecommunications, industrial automation). The group has approximately 1,400 employees in six production and R&D centres in Italy (Bologna, Longarone, Palermo and Milano), Tunisia and China. In 2009, Selcom recorded a consolidated turnover of € 185 m. The acquisition by BS Private Equity, IPEF III and BS Investimenti IV of 55% of Selcom was arranged through a buy-in management buy-out completed in 2003. In 2005, Selcom acquired Procond Elettronica and Digitek(sold during 2008).
